SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 5045
Commending Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church on the occasion of its 150th anniversary.

WHEREAS, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church has served its members and the community steadfastly and with great compassion and has been an invaluable partner of Chesterfield County for 150 years; and

WHEREAS, on Sunday, October 15, 2006, the members and friends of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church will hold a gala celebration in honor of this very special and historic anniversary; and 

WHEREAS, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, through the congregation's numerous community activities, has contributed greatly to the enrichment of the day-to-day lives of its neighbors in the surrounding communities; and

WHEREAS, through its many civic efforts, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church has helped to make Chesterfield County a better place for all of its residents to live; and

WHEREAS, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church may be very proud of its rich and glorious heritage, earning widespread praise for its 150 years of outstanding Christian service and extraordinary accomplishments as it stands ready to continue to serve its congregation and the community of Chesterfield County long into the future; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend and congratulate Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church on the occasion of its 150th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church as an expression of the General Assembly's gratitude for the church's countless superb ministries and its devotion to the citizens of Chesterfield County.
