2006 SPECIAL SESSION I
062127496WHEREAS, highway congestion is a major burden on several regions of the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, highway congestion has negative consequences not only for traveling convenience, but for commerce, the environment, and the quality of life of the citizens of the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, implementation of a federal demonstration project seeking to ease highway traffic congestion in a region of the Commonwealth through the use of toll facility congestion pricing through use of electronic toll-booth-less technology is highly desirable; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the Congress of the United States be urged to support the implementation of a federal highway demonstration project to ease highway traffic congestion in a region of the Commonwealth through the use of toll facility congestion pricing through use of electronic toll-booth-less technology; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates transmit copies of this resolution to the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, the President of the United States Senate, and the members of the Virginia Congressional delegation so that they may be apprised of the sense of the General Assembly of Virginia in this matter.
