Celebrating the life of Ann Kennedy Hedgepeth.

WHEREAS, Ann Kennedy Hedgepeth, respected citizen, community benefactor, and extraordinary advocacy volunteer for AARP Virginia, died on March 10, 2006; and

WHEREAS, a dedicated and compassionate AARP volunteer, Ann Hedgepeth was a formidable and articulate spokesperson for equality and adequate care for all of Virginia's citizens in need and was committed to improving the quality of life of the elderly and persons with disabilities; and

WHEREAS, a compassionate person whose first concern was the well-being of others, Ann Hedgepeth was always cheerful and ready to take on the most difficult tasks without complaint; and

WHEREAS, Ann Hedgepeth was extremely knowledgeable regarding the many issues important to seniors and persons with disabilities, and partnered with legislators in the General Assembly for many years to bring about changes in laws that would benefit all citizens in need; and

WHEREAS, a caring and generous person, Ann Hedgepeth was a wonderful role model for her fellow AARP Virginia volunteers and people across the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, Ann Hedgepeth will be fondly remembered for her dignity and grace and will be missed by her loving family, her numerous friends and colleagues, and the countless citizens in need in Virginia she so effectively served; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of an outstanding public servant and fine Virginian, Ann Kennedy Hedgepeth; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Ann Kennedy Hedgepeth as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
