WHEREAS, Ramon E. Pardue, the chief executive officer of St. Joseph’s Villa, has been a leader in the development of community-based children’s services and has held many leadership positions in local and statewide organizations that address children and family needs; and

WHEREAS, Ramon E. Pardue has been with St. Joseph’s Villa for 29 years, serving as the Villa’s chief of operations from 1977 to 1987 and as chief executive officer since 1987; and

WHEREAS, Ramon E. Pardue has been instrumental in transforming St. Joseph’s Villa from an orphanage into a multi-service children’s service organization, which serves more than 600 children and families each day; and

WHEREAS, Ramon E. Pardue has worked to support and implement programs and systems for homeless children and their families, neglected and disabled homeless youth, and children who are physically or mentally challenged; and

WHEREAS, in addition to his obligations at St. Joseph’s Villa, Ramon E. Pardue currently serves on the Virginia Department of Social Services Advisory Committee on Policies and Standards Governing Investigations of Child Abuse and Neglect in Out-of-Family Settings and the Curriculum Advisory Committee for the Administration of Justice; and

WHEREAS, Ramon E. Pardue is a member of the Virginia State Advisory Board Committee of Interdepartmental Licensure and Certification of Residential Facilities for Children and the Virginia Alliance of Family Childcare Associations; and

WHEREAS, Ramon E. Pardue is a member of the West Richmond Businessmen’s Association and a member of the Brook Road Business Association; and

WHEREAS, Ramon E. Pardue has maintained his commitment to the welfare of the children of the Richmond Metropolitan Area and the Commonwealth for his entire professional career; and

WHEREAS, after his many years of exemplary service, Ramon E. Pardue is retiring from his position as chief executive officer of St. Joseph’s Villa; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Ramon E. Pardue on his outstanding leadership as the chief executive officer of St. Joseph’s Villa and his extraordinary advocacy for Virginia’s children; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Ramon E. Pardue as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation for his many accomplishments and his dedication to the children and families of the Richmond Metropolitan Area and the Commonwealth.
