Commending Lawrence Woodson II.

WHEREAS, Lawrence Woodson II is recognized as the 2006 Business Associate of the Year by the Danville Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Woodson has been the owner-operator of the Woodson Marathon Service Station on Riverside Drive, providing excellent service to visitors and residents of the Danville area for 22 years; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Woodson grew up in Danville, attended Tunstall High School and Danville Community College, and has built a fine reputation as an exceptional businessman and enthusiastic community supporter; and

WHEREAS, always concerned with the well-being of his community and his neighbors, Lawrence Woodson is an active participant in community affairs and civic activities that benefit all of the residents of Danville; and

WHEREAS, a great mentor and believer in young people, Lawrence Woodson has coached and supported numerous local tee-ball, basketball, baseball, and softball teams over the years; and

WHEREAS, an advocate of education and the value of real-life experience, Lawrence Woodson has always taken the time to encourage young people and has personally given many youths a helping hand by giving them a summer or part-time job or a special opportunity to excel; and

WHEREAS, Lawrence Woodson and his wife, Ramona, have two wonderful sons and are faithful members of Woodlawn Baptist Church; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Lawrence Woodson II for his well-deserved recognition as the  2006 Business Associate of the Year by the Danville Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Lawrence Woodson II as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for his commitment to the residents of the Danville community.
