2006 SPECIAL SESSION I
WHEREAS, G2Tactics, Inc., was honored with the 2006 Alexandria Technology Achievement Award on March 24, 2006; and
WHEREAS, at a luncheon recognizing the finalists and the award's 10th anniversary, Alexandria’s Mayor William D. Euille made the presentation on behalf of the award sponsors, the City of Alexandria, the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, and the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Alexandria Technology Achievement Week and the Alexandria Technology Achievement Award were established in 1997 by the Ad Hoc Task Force on Information and Communication Technologies, which led to the founding of Alexandria's Commission on Information Technology; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alexandria is one of the Commonwealth's fastest growing technology centers with well over 300 technology firms employing more than 12,000 workers; and
WHEREAS, headquartered in Alexandria, G2Tactics is an innovative company focused on the application of advanced technology to the challenges of law enforcement in Virginia and across the nation by developing new products to aid police officers; and
WHEREAS, G2Tactics' Mobile License Plate Reader can capture the plates of moving and parked vehicles in real time and check them against FBI and other law-enforcement databases for identification; and
WHEREAS, G2Tactics' product lines have valuable applications not only in law-enforcement responsibilities, such as AMBER alerts, stolen vehicles, and terrorist watch lists, but also in situations of tax enforcement, asset protection, special investigations, fleet management, and parking enforcement; and
WHEREAS, among a distinguished and impressive group of finalists, G2Tactics, Inc., and its president Slim Manthey, are worthy recipients of the Alexandria Technology Achievement Award; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate G2Tactics, Inc., on its many important achievements and on its 2006 Alexandria Technology Achievement Award; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the president of G2Tactics, Inc., Slim Manthey, as an expression of the General Assembly’s gratitude for the company's dedication to the safety and security of the Commonwealth and the nation.
