Commending Heritage Baptist Church on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.

WHEREAS, Heritage Baptist Church located in Woodbridge is recognized for 25 years of outstanding service to the community; and

WHEREAS, founded by Pastor Michael E. Edwards, Heritage Baptist Church held its first service on June 28, 1981, at Potomac Senior High School; and

WHEREAS, in 1982 Heritage Baptist Church moved to a new location on Telegraph Road in Woodbridge; and

WHEREAS, Heritage Christian School was founded by Heritage Baptist Church and accepted its first students for the 1983-1984 school year; and

WHEREAS, the congregation of Heritage Baptist Church grew in faith and numbers and built a new church on Spriggs Road in Woodbridge, which was formally dedicated on Sunday, September 11, 1988; and

WHEREAS, on Sunday, June 4, 2006, Heritage Baptist Church and its devoted congregation are celebrating 25 years of ministry for the Lord and service to the residents of Prince William County; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend Heritage Baptist Church on the occasion of its 25th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Heritage Baptist Church as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation for its outstanding service to the citizens of Prince William County and best wishes for continued success in the congregation's ministry and missions.
