HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 5038
Commending the Battlefield High School girls' tennis team.

WHEREAS, the 2006 Battlefield High School girls' tennis team played 16 victorious matches against all 11 high school girls’ tennis teams and was honored as the Virginia High School League's AAA Cedar Run District Champions; and

WHEREAS, the outstanding Battlefield Bobcats girls' tennis team finished the season with a record of 16-0; and

WHEREAS, the Bobcats' exemplary tennis coach Lisa Rucker, who has been previously named Tennis Coach of the Year, led the Battlefield High School girls' tennis team in an undefeated season in the Cedar Run District; and

WHEREAS, the exceptional and dedicated members of the Bobcats' team for the spring 2006 season were Fiama Aguirre, Roseadra Brown, Sarah Erbes, Cece Greco, Helen Huynh, Carina John, Shelley Katz, Susan Lee, Briana Malley, Hillary McCain, Bristy Parker, Renee Pham, and Ann-Marie White; and

WHEREAS, the Bobcats' team of Cece Greco and Ann-Marie White are the Cedar Run District's No. 1 seed girls' doubles team and are vying for a spot to play in the state regional championship tournament; and

WHEREAS, the Battlefield High School Bobcats' outstanding success is due to the leadership of Head Coach Lisa Rucker; the discipline, hard work, and enthusiasm of the talented players; and the support of the students, faculty and staff, and community of Prince William County; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend and congratulate the Battlefield High School girls’ tennis team as Cedar Run District Champions; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Head Coach Lisa Rucker in honor of the sustained excellence and championship performance of the Battlefield High School girls' tennis team.
