SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Mentally ill defendants; technical changes. Provides that a defendant in a criminal matter may be hospitalized if so seriously mentally ill as to be unable to care for himself. Under current law the standard is "imminently dangerous to himself or others." The provision applies to pretrial, after conviction but before sentencing and after sentencing. This bill has been incorporated into SB 310.
