SUMMARY AS PASSED:
False identification cards; penalty. Provides that the provisions of the Code section criminalizing the manufacture, sale, etc., or possession of fictitious, facsimile or simulated official licenses or identifications does not preclude an election to prosecute under § 18.2-172 (forgery), except to prosecute for forgery or uttering of such license or identification card or facsimile thereof as proof of age. This bill is identical to HB 1013.

False identification cards; penalty. Punishes the manufacture for sale of false identification cards as a Class 6 felony.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
False identification cards used for establishing Virginia residency; penalty. Punishes the possession, manufacture, etc. of false identification cards with the intent to use same as evidence of Virginia residency as a Class 6 felony. Raises the penalty for possession without such intent from a Class 2 to a Class 1 misdemeanor.
