SUMMARY AS PASSED SENATE: (all summaries)
Public Library Internet Protection Fund; established; purposes. Establishes the Public Library Internet Protection Fund. The bill permits grants from the Fund to be made to reimburse free public libraries and library systems for the initial purchase and subsequent renewal of technology protection measures for computers that have access to the Internet. The bill limits the grant amount for any given fiscal year depending on the type of grant. The Fund would be administered by the Board of the Library of Virginia. The bill incorporates SB 334 (Obenshain).
