SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Providing certificate of analysis to defense counsel. Removes the requirement that any certificate of analysis prepared by the Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services or the Department of Forensic Science or authorized by either of them be provided to defense counsel at least seven days before a criminal trial in which the certificate is to be used as evidence. The bill also provides that a copy of the certificate shall be made available by the clerk, at the office of the clerk, to the defendant or counsel of record for the defendant upon request, at no charge.
