SUMMARY AS PASSED:

Board of zoning appeals; variances.  Provides that the property upon which a property owner has been granted a variance shall be treated as conforming; however, the use or the structure permitted by the variance may not be expanded.

SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:

Board of zoning appeals; variances.  Permits localities to provide that variances previously granted are effective only as to the structure to which they pertain and not to any replacement, expansion or substantial alteration thereof, unless such replacement, expansion or substantial alteration is the result of the involuntary destruction of or substantial damage to the structure.
