SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Regulation of certain private and out-of-state institutions of higher education; civil penalty. Authorizes the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia to recover a civil penalty of up to $1,000 for each violation of the chapter relating to regulation of certain private and out-of-state institutions. The civil penalty is available when there has been no criminal prosecution instituted against such postsecondary school.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Regulation of certain private and out-of-state institutions of higher education; civil penalty. Authorizes the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia to recover a civil penalty of up to $2,500 for each violation of the chapter relating to regulation of certain private and out-of-state institutions. The civil penalty is available when there has been no criminal prosecution instituted against such postsecondary school.
