SUMMARY AS PASSED:
Nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult day care, home care organizations, and hospice; barrier crimes. Removes the phrase "moral turpitude" from the description of crimes that would constitute a barrier to employment in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult day care, home care organizations, and hospice care.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Criminal records checks; employees of nursing homes, home care organizations, assisted living facilities, adult day care centers, and child welfare agencies. Authorizes nursing homes, home care organizations, assisted living facilities, adult day care centers, and child welfare agencies to hire individuals who have been convicted of one misdemeanor involving moral turpitude if five years have elapsed following the conviction. A conviction of abuse or neglect remains a barrier to employment regardless of the time that has elapsed since conviction.
