SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Elections; voter registration. Creates a presumption with respect to the spouse or dependent of a member of the military or merchant marine that the spouse or dependent who has a physical presence and place of abode in Virginia has established domicile in Virginia and residence for purposes of voting, unless the spouse or dependent expressly states otherwise.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Elections; voter registration. Provides that the spouse or dependent of a military or merchant marine member is entitled to register in the county or city where the spouse or dependent resides and is otherwise qualified to vote notwithstanding the fact that the military or merchant marine member may have a different home of record.
