SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Punishment for sexual battery; penalty. Removes language in the Code section defining and punishing sexual battery, a Class 1 misdemeanor, which is the same as language in the section defining and punishing aggravated sexual battery, a felony.

Punishment for sexual battery; penalty. Removes language in the Code section defining and punishing sexual battery, a Class 1 misdemeanor, which is the same as language in the section defining and punishing aggravated sexual battery, a felony. The bill also adds language that provides that sexual battery can be accomplished by surprise.
