SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 274 Offered March 2, 2006 Commending McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and M & S Grill. ---------- Patrons-- Howell; Delegate: Plum ----------

WHEREAS, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and M & S Grill opened in Reston in 1997 and joined the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and M & S Grill are known for high quality food and superior service, and were named "Best Seafood Restaurant" by readers of Washingtonian magazine; and

WHEREAS, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and M & S Grill have been supporters of many charitable projects and local entities, including Herndon-Reston FISH (Friendly Instant Sympathetic Help), Inc., Reston Association's Tennis Program for Kids, Buzz Aldren Elementary School, the Reston Library, Reston Interfaith, and the Greater Reston Arts Center; and

WHEREAS, McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and M & S Grill were presented with the Outstanding Corporate Support award by Family & Child Services of Washington, D.C., because of their fundraising efforts on behalf of underprivileged children; and

WHEREAS, the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce named McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and M & S Grill as the medium-sized business of the year for 2005 in its Best of Reston awards; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and M & S Grill; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant and M & S Grill as an expression of the General Assembly's appreciation for their community service activities.
