Celebrating the life of John William Elfers.

WHEREAS, John William Elfers, an admired and respected resident of Augusta County, died on September 11, 2005; and

WHEREAS, John Elfers was born on November 23, 1951, in New York City and worked for many years for John Karaffa as a carpenter; and

WHEREAS, John Elfers began his own business as a videographer and was employed as a lodging clerk at the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School in Charlottesville; and

WHEREAS, John Elfers was active in the Republican Party as chairman and secretary and was a member of Victory Worship Center, where he served on the board; and

WHEREAS, John Elfers will be fondly remembered for his generosity and loving spirit and will be sorely missed by his family, his numerous friends and admirers, and the congregation of Victory Worship Center; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a fine Virginian, John William Elfers; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of John William Elfers as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
