2006 SESSION
WHEREAS, Georgia B. Rimple of Norfolk, an admired and respected citizen and community benefactor, died on October 19, 2005; and
WHEREAS, a native of Philadelphia, Georgia Rimple grew up in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from Brooklyn Girls School, and furthered her education by attending City College of New York and Wesleyan University; and
WHEREAS, dedicated to improving the quality of life of her neighbors, Georgia Rimple generously gave of her time and talents volunteering for numerous civic organizations dedicated to the arts, the well-being of children, and community health issues; and
WHEREAS, Georgia Rimple served as a member of the board of directors of the Virginia Stage Company, and as a member of the Norfolk Commission on the Arts and the Virginia Cooperative Extension; and
WHEREAS, Georgia Rimple was a loving wife and mother, who helped others at every opportunity; she had an innate ability to put everyone she met at ease and will be fondly remembered for her immense kindness and loving spirit; and
WHEREAS, Georgia Rimple will be sorely missed by her beloved husband and family, her numerous friends and admirers, and the congregation of Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of an enthusiastic community supporter and outstanding Virginian, Georgia B. Rimple; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Georgia B. Rimple as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
