Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That § 22.1-202.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 22.1-202.1. Comparative religion as elective course.

Local school boardsThe Board of Education shall authorize, as an elective in grades nine through 12 with appropriate credits toward graduation, a comparative religion class that focuses on the basic tenets, history, and religious observances and rites of world religions.
