063004726Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 15.2-1636.5 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 15.2-1636.5. Membership; compensation.
The Compensation Board shall consist of the Auditor of Public
Accounts, the State Tax Commissioner, as ex officio members, and one
member, three members who may or may not be an officer or employee officers or employees of the Commonwealth,. One
member shall be appointed by the House of Delegates, one member shall be
appointed by the Senate of Virginia, and one
member who shall be a former constitutional
officer and shall be appointed and designated as chairman of the
Board by the Governor and who shall hold office at the pleasure of the Governor but
in no event longer than six years. The ex
officio members of the Board shall not receive any compensation for their
services as such members. The member designated by the Governor as chairman Members
who are not officers or employees of the Commonwealth shall
receive such compensation as shall be fixed by law.
