HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 69
Celebrating the life of John William Elfers.

WHEREAS, John William Elfers, an admired and respected resident of Augusta County, died September 11, 2005; and

WHEREAS, born November 23, 1951, in New York City, John Elfers worked for many years for John Karaffa as a carpenter; and

WHEREAS, John Elfers began his own business as a videographer and was employed at the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School in Charlottesville as a lodging clerk; and

WHEREAS, John Elfers was active in the Republican Party, serving as chairman and secretary and was a member of Victory Worship Center where he served on the board; and

WHEREAS, John Elfers will be fondly remembered for his generosity and loving spirit and will be  missed by his family, his numerous friends and admirers, and the congregation of Victory Worship Center; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a fine Virginian, John William Elfers; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of John William Elfers as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
