Commending Cynthia J. Watson.

WHEREAS, in recognition of her ongoing contributions and commitment to education, the Association of Educational Office Professionals of Norfolk selected Cynthia J. Watson as the 2005 Administrator of the Year; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Watson is the distinguished principal of Booker T. Washington High School, a school steeped in rich tradition located in the City of Norfolk; and

WHEREAS, an effective administrator and visionary leader, Cynthia Watson successfully led Booker T. Washington High School to full state accreditation; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Watson is a competent and skilled educator, who is highly visible at the school, tirelessly working to meet the needs of all of its students; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Watson demonstrates her desire to make a difference in the lives of young people, whether it is through her active involvement in church, community, or professional organizations; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Watson’s leadership style epitomizes enthusiasm, compassion, a strong work ethic, and sense of commitment; and

WHEREAS, it is obvious to all who know and work with Cynthia Watson that her career is driven by her deep, abiding love and respect for her students, the parents, staff, and others in the community who support Booker T. Washington High School; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend and congratulate Cynthia J. Watson on being honored as the 2005 Administrator of the Year by the Association of Educational Office Professionals of Norfolk; and,  be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Cynthia J. Watson as an expression of the General Assembly’s appreciation of her many achievements and gratitude for her outstanding service and commitment to the citizens of the City of Norfolk.
