HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 518
Commending the Virginia Association of Master Swimming.

WHEREAS, the Virginia Association of Master Swimming (VAMS), located in Wytheville, is recognized for its outstanding support of master swimmers and aquatic competition, as well as recreational swimming; and

WHEREAS, master swimming is a nationwide program for adult swimmers of all abilities who pursue lifelong athletic participation in association with coaches and experienced swimmers who swim for fun, fitness, and to improve their skill; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Association of Master Swimming has received national and international recognition for its notable sponsorship of master swimmers, and sanctions master swimming venues throughout Virginia for all citizens ages 19 to over 100; and

WHEREAS, the programs and activities of the Virginia Association of Master Swimming have helped improve the quality of life and well-being of the citizens of the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Virginia Association of Master Swimming for its outstanding support of master swimmers and the promotion of swimming in Wythe County and the Commonwealth; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to B. J. Hansen and the members of the Virginia Association of Master Swimming as an expression of the General Assembly's appreciation for their many achievements and best wishes for future success.
