065903436WHEREAS, Israel O’Quinn, a graduate of Emory & Henry College, has received the A.L. Mitchell Outstanding Young Alumnus Award; and
WHEREAS, the award is given annually to an alumnus of Emory & Henry College who has attained distinguished achievements and demonstrated creativity as well as ingenuity in a professional or volunteer capacity during the first 15 years after graduation; and
WHEREAS, upon graduating, Israel O’Quinn faithfully served the Commonwealth of Virginia in the Attorney General’s office; and
WHEREAS, since beginning his career in politics, Israel O’Quinn has worked on three statewide campaigns and five local campaigns; and
WHEREAS, gifted with energy, stamina, and intuitiveness, Israel O'Quinn began preparing for a successful career by excelling in political science at Emory & Henry College, and by immersing himself in state and local campaigns and diverse political activities; and
WHEREAS, Israel O’Quinn has represented Emory & Henry College with dignity and distinction since his graduation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly congratulate Israel O’Quinn for receiving the A.L. Mitchell Young Alumnus Award from Emory & Henry College; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Israel O’Quinn as an expression of the General Assembly’s admiration for his many achievements and his academic success.
