2006 SESSION
WHEREAS, Pastor Wesley M. Taylor, minister of the Calvary Temple, is recognized for his compassionate service to his congregation, the community and the members of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ (COOLJC) in Petersburg; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Taylor studied at the Church of Christ Bible College in New York and the Toledo Bible College in Indiana, receiving a doctor of divinity degree; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Taylor was appointed and consecrated as an Apostle during the COOLJC International Convention in Columbia, South Carolina, in August 2005; and
WHEREAS, a devoted minister for over 40 years, Pastor Taylor in his appointment serves as the Apostle of the Men’s ministry and presides over Regional IV of the COOLJC; and
WHEREAS, a respected church leader, Pastor Taylor has served in numerous key positions in the COOLJC including as minister, elder, district elder, junior bishop, bishop, bishop of the COOLJC churches in Tennessee, and currently those churches in the Virginia Southern Diocese, which represents 19 churches; and
WHEREAS, a dedicated minister, counselor, and teacher for the church, Pastor Taylor takes a firm stand on the Apostle’s Doctrine and has been an inspirational mentor of pastors throughout Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, and Massachusetts; and
WHEREAS, over a long and fruitful ministry, Pastor Taylor has served Calvary Temple, its neighbors, and the COOLJC with great devotion, affection, and vision; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Pastor Wesley M. Taylor for his 40 years of outstanding service; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Pastor Wesley M. Taylor as an expression of the gratitude of the General Assembly for his commitment to the citizens of the City of Petersburg and his many gifts as pastor, counselor, and mentor.
