Celebrating the life of Olive Iola Clark.

WHEREAS, Olive Iola Clark was born April 2, 1917, in Stratford, Wisconsin, and died February 17, 2006; and

WHEREAS, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and the Moody Bible Institute, Olive Clark earned a master's degree from McCormick Theological Seminary; and

WHEREAS, Olive Clark moved to Waynesboro in 1952 and remained there the rest of her life, serving as a teacher for the Weekday Religious Education program and later serving as state coordinator for the program; and

WHEREAS, a published poet, Olive Clark was elected to the International Poetry Hall of Fame in 1996; and

WHEREAS, Olive Clark was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Waynesboro for over 50 years and served as president of the Guilders Circle and the Waynesboro Church Women United; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Olive Iola Clark; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Olive Iola Clark in recognition of her many achievements.
