Celebrating the life of Cecilia Murphy Hall.

WHEREAS, Cecilia Murphy Hall of Newport News, an admired resident and neighborhood supporter, died on February 13, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Cecilia Murphy Hall was the widow of the late Charles Bernard Hall, and the couple had a wonderful and loving daughter, Alice Hall Milam; and

WHEREAS, concerned for her fellow neighbors in need, Cecilia Murphy Hall was an enthusiastic and tireless community supporter, and she especially looked out for and nurtured children; and

WHEREAS, Cecilia Murphy Hall was a loving mother, a comfort and inspiration to her church family, and will be fondly remembered for her compassionate and generous nature; and

WHEREAS, Cecilia Murphy Hall will be missed by her beloved daughter, son-in-law, and grandson; her brother, nieces, and other dear family members; her numerous friends and admirers; and the members of the parish of Saint Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Newport News; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a remarkable Virginian, Cecilia Murphy Hall; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Cecilia Murphy Hall as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
