HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 433
Celebrating the life of Gregory R. Wright, Jr.

WHEREAS, Gregory R. Wright, Jr., was killed in northern Iraq on December 7, 2005; and

WHEREAS, a graduate of First Colonial High School in Virginia Beach, Gregory Wright attended the Virginia Military Institute, earned a degree in history in 1995, and played football;  he served as Cadet in Charge of the VMI Theater and Cadet in Charge of fire fighting, and was a member of the Palms Club and the Emergency Rescue Team; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Wright served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry officer and a military intelligence officer until 2000; and

WHEREAS, after leaving the military, Gregory Wright provided security services abroad; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Wright will be missed by his parents, brother, grandmothers, and numerous other relatives; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of an honorable Virginian, Gregory R. Wright, Jr.; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Gregory R. Wright, Jr., as an expression of the regard in which his memory is held by the members of the General Assembly and the citizens of the Commonwealth.
