Celebrating the life of Alison Yowell Pazmino.

WHEREAS, Alison Yowell Pazmino of Manassas, a skilled and dedicated teacher, died on October 17, 2005, at the age of 32; and

WHEREAS, while attending Bridgewater College, Alison Yowell Pazmino studied in France and later taught French at Metz Middle School in Manassas; and

WHEREAS, Alison Yowell Pazmino then moved to Japan, where she taught English and trained Japanese teachers in English language curriculum development; and

WHEREAS, Alison Yowell Pazmino returned to the United States, earned a master's degree from George Mason University, and taught English in Southern California; and

WHEREAS, in 2003 Alison Yowell joined the staff of the Journal of the Virginia Writing Project as an editor and met her future husband, Peter Pazmino; and

WHEREAS, Alison Yowell Pazmino's last teaching job was at River Bend Middle School in Sterling, a Loudoun County public school; and

WHEREAS, Alison Yowell Pazmino's love of teaching took her across the country and around the world, and her legacy lives in the young people of France, Japan, and the United States whose lives she touched and inspired; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the untimely loss of an outstanding young educator, Alison Yowell Pazmino; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Alison Yowell Pazmino as an expression of the high regard in which her memory is held by the members of the General Assembly.
