2006 SESSION
065813340WHEREAS, the Tunstall High School baseball team won its second consecutive Virginia High School League Group AA state title by defeating Turner Ashby High School, 17-1, in the state title game; and
WHEREAS, senior stars Will Inman, Jacob Thompson, Tyler Mills, Josh Stowe, and Tyler Gerells contributed greatly to the win; and
WHEREAS, the Tunstall High School Trojans completed the 2005 season with a 26-1 record and won their third straight Region IV title, defeating Dan River High School, 5-1, in the finals; and
WHEREAS, the Trojans' winning roster included Will Inman, Jacob Thompson, Josh Stowe, Tyler Mills, Tyler Gerrells, Josh Lewis, Scott Harris, Jon Dalton, David Dixon, Jeff Jefferson, Dustin Echols, Justin Fulton, Corey Dix, Ian Haynes, and Justin Thompson; Head Coach Barry Shelton and Assistants Lane Woods, Mark Austin, and Billy Stowe; and
WHEREAS, by displaying leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the regular season and postseason tournaments, the Trojans baseball team proudly represented Tunstall High school and its supporters in the Pittsylvania community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Tunstall High School baseball team on its 2005 baseball championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Head Coach Barry Shelton in honor of an exceptional baseball season and Tunstall High School's outstanding success in winning the state baseball championship.
