WHEREAS, Pinkie L. Riddick of Newport News, an admired citizen and neighborhood supporter, died on February 13, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Pinkie Riddick was the widow of the late James Riddick, the General Overseer of the Gospel Spreading Churches of God; and
WHEREAS, concerned for her fellow residents in need in the community, Pinkie Riddick was an enthusiastic and tireless supporter of her husband and his ministry in the Gospel Spreading Churches of God; and
WHEREAS, Pinkie Riddick was a loving mother, a comfort and inspiration to her church family, and will be fondly remembered for her church leadership and her compassionate and loving nature; and
WHEREAS, Pinkie Riddick will be missed by her beloved mother, children, 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and other family members; her numerous friends and admirers; and the members of the congregation of the Gospel Spreading Church of God in Newport News; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a remarkable Virginian, Pinkie L. Riddick; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Pinkie L. Riddick as an expression of the General Assembly’s respect for her memory.
