Celebrating the life of Elizabeth L. Dailey.

WHEREAS, Elizabeth L. Dailey, a respected community leader and Stafford County Treasurer, died on February 12, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Dailey earned a master governmental treasurer certification from the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center of Public Service after completing accounting classes at Northern Virginia Community College; and

WHEREAS, in 1987 Elizabeth Dailey began her career in the County Treasurer's office, was appointed head of the department in 1993, and thereafter won every election for the Treasurer position; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Dailey, a good friend and colleague who was referred to as the "ultimate professional," sincerely cared about the citizens of Stafford and worked to make life easier for them; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Dailey provided cost-effective and innovative solutions for automated bill payments and revised the automobile decal process; and

WHEREAS, the 10th District chair of the Treasurer's Association of Virginia, Elizabeth Dailey was also a member of the Republican Woman’s Association; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Dailey was a devoted wife and loving mother to her daughter; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Elizabeth L. Dailey, a cherished County Treasurer who will be greatly missed by her family, countless friends, County employees, and Stafford residents; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Elizabeth L. Dailey as an expression of the General Assembly's high esteem for her exemplary service to the Commonwealth.
