Celebrating the life of Petty Officer Second Class (SEAL) Danny P. Dietz.

WHEREAS, Gunner’s Mate Second Class (SEAL) Danny P. Dietz, United States Navy, was killed in action near Asadabad, Afghanistan, in Kunar Province; and

WHEREAS, Danny P. Dietz, a Navy SEAL stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, lived in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with his wife, Maria Paz Leveque and is also survived by his parents Danny Senior and Cindy, his sister Tiffany and brother Eric; and

WHEREAS, Danny P. Dietz, a native of Littleton, Colorado, became a SEAL in 2001 after graduating from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training with class 232 at Naval Special Warfare Center, Coronado, California; and

WHEREAS, Danny P. Dietz distinguished himself as a Navy SEAL earning multiple decorations during his Navy career, including the Silver Star, Purple Heart, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy Expert Rifleman Medal and Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of a courageous and patriotic American, Gunner’s Mate Second Class (SEAL) Danny P. Dietz; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Gunner’s Mate Second Class (SEAL) Danny P. Dietz, United States Navy, as an expression of the high regard in which his memory is held by the members of the General Assembly and the citizens of Virginia and the nation.
