2006 SESSION
065769492WHEREAS, the United Council of Negro Women honored Joy Trickett by naming her the Outstanding Humanitarian of the Year for 2005; and
WHEREAS, Joy Trickett devotes endless hours to her community through her service as the Board Chair for the Good Shepherd Alliance Emergency Homeless Shelters in Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg, and Lucketts; and
WHEREAS, Joy Trickett also serves as a board member on the Loudoun Interdenominational Network for Karing, a deaconess at the Dranesville Church of the Brethren in Herndon, and a member of the Great Falls Ecumenical Council; and
WHEREAS, after an early retirement as a financial manager for the federal government, Joy Trickett chose to become actively involved in many organizations that focus on giving back to her community; and
WHEREAS, Joy Trickett is dedicated to alleviating homelessness and poverty in Northern Virginia; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Joy Trickett for her valuable service and her devotion to the citizens of Loudoun County and Northern Virginia; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Joy Trickett as an expression of the General Assembly's gratitude for her dedication to the people of Loudoun County and Northern Virginia.
