Celebrating the life of Frank William Sencindiver.

WHEREAS, Frank William Sencindiver, a respected citizen and public servant, died on August 23, 2005; and

WHEREAS, born January 21, 1927, in Winchester, Frank Sencindiver graduated from Handley High School in 1948, and served his country in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946; and

WHEREAS, Frank Sencindiver married the love of his life, Virginia Grant, in 1950, and the couple had celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, after graduation, Frank Sencindiver became a license examiner for the Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles, was promoted through the years and retired as deputy commissioner in 1987 after 40 years of exemplary service; and

WHEREAS, Frank Sencindiver served as a lobbyist with Easter Associates of Charlottesville and represented clients at the General Assembly of Virginia with exceptional skill and dignity for 17 years, retiring again in 2004; and

WHEREAS, Frank Sencindiver sang in the church choir from early childhood and served in every church he joined, including Braddock Street Methodist Church in Winchester, Trinity United Methodist Church in Richmond, and First Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and

WHEREAS, for 25 years, Frank Sencindiver enjoyed singing in the Richmond Symphony Chorus and CAFUR; and

WHEREAS, Frank Sencindiver was a longtime member of the Richmond West Breakfast Lions Club, the Richmond Council Navy League, and the Lodge of Strict Observance No. 207; and

WHEREAS, a consummate professional, Frank Sencindiver will be remembered for his many contributions to the legislative process; and

WHEREAS, Frank Sencindiver will be missed by his wife and family, his numerous friends and colleagues, and the congregation of Trinity United Methodist Church; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly mourn the passing of a dedicated public servant and fine Virginia gentleman, Frank William Sencindiver; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Frank William Sencindiver as an expression of the high esteem in which his memory is held by the members of the General Assembly.
