2006 SESSION
WHEREAS, the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad Basic Life Support (BLS) Competition Team attended the 57th Annual International Rescue and Emergency Care Association Conference; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad BLS Competition Team won first place in the International Rescue and Emergency Care Association Conference, while competing against career firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics from the United States, Canada, South Africa, Sweden, Germany, Turkey, and Saint Croix, United States Virgin Islands; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad BLS Competition Team took a written exam and completed three separate trauma scenarios involving multiple trauma patients; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad BLS Competition Team was the only volunteer team to win first place in the International Competition; and
WHEREAS, the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad BLS Competition Team included team captain Jack Dye, along with Ann Morse, Judy Jackson, and Summer Pruette; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend and congratulate the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad Basic Life Support Competition Team on winning first place at the 2005 International Rescue and Emergency Care Association Conference; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad Basic Life Support Competition Team as an expression of the General Assembly's congratulations on its outstanding performance in the competition and gratitude for its commitment to the safety and well-being of the citizens of the Commonwealth.
