Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Article 15 of Chapter 1 of Title 33.1 a section numbered 33.1-223.2:16 as follows:

§ 33.1-223.2:16. Traffic-calming studies.

When requested by resolution from any county board of supervisors in the Commonwealth, the Virginia Department of Transportation shall conduct traffic-calming studies in residential neighborhoods and undertake suitable traffic-calming measures based on the results of such studies including but not limited to the placement of stop signs, yield signs, one-way signs, and signs denoting turn restrictions.
