2006 SESSION
065128260Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) shall convey by June 30, 2006, approximately 10.4 acres of state property to the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, at no cost to the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. The land to be transferred is adjacent to Route 31 (Jamestown Road) and is bound by the James River on the south, Route 359 on the north, and Jamestown Road on the west. The deed shall contain no restrictions. The 10.4 acres includes 4.271 acres that the Commonwealth Transportation Board previously agreed to transfer to the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation with restrictions.
In addition, the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation shall retain all three current entrances on Jamestown Road in perpetuity.
The Virginia Department of Transportation shall review the impact of this transfer to determine if additional land is deemed necessary for long-term development of VDOT operations, and, if so, VDOT shall work with the Office of the Attorney General to identify and acquire necessary parcels from land not currently held by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation.
