2006 SESSION
068865496Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding in Chapter 1 of Title 25.1 a section numbered 25.1-110 as follows:
§ 25.1-110. Condemnation of sport shooting ranges.
Nothing in this title shall be construed to authorize the condemnation of any sport shooting range, as defined in § 15.2-917, or any part thereof. The authority to condemn any sport shooting range shall be specifically as provided by general law.
Notwithstanding the provisions of any local zoning ordinance, no owner of a sport shooting range acquired through the exercise of the power of eminent domain shall be denied the right to relocate such sport shooting range within the jurisdiction of the condemning authority. Any sport shooting range that has relocated pursuant to this section and any owner thereof shall have the same rights, powers, and privileges, with respect to such range, that existed prior to condemnation.
