067034301Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered § 46.2-817.1 as follows:
§ 46.2-817.1. High-speed pursuit policy.
On and after January 1, 2007, every law-enforcement agency in the Commonwealth that is or may be engaged in emergency response and high-speed vehicle pursuits shall adopt a written policy that sets forth the manner in which such operations shall be conducted. Each such agency may create its own policy or adopt an existing model. Each such policy shall address situations in which police pursuits cross jurisdictional boundaries.
