Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding sections numbered 22.1-131.1 and 23-3.1:1 as follows:

§ 22.1-131.1. Drug-free school zones; signage.

Each public and private elementary, secondary, and post-secondary school shall post signage indicating that school property and the area within 1,000 feet of such property is a drug-free school zone in accordance with § 18.2-255.2.

§ 23-3.1:1. Drug-free school zones; signage.

Each public and private two-year and four-year institution of higher education shall post signage indicating that school property and the area within 1,000 feet of such property is a drug-free school zone in accordance with § 18.2-255.2.
