An Act to amend and reenact § 2.2-3707.1 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the Freedom of Information Act; posting of minutes by state boards and commissions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  That § 2.2-3707.1 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 2.2-3707.1. Posting of minutes for state boards and commissions.

All boards, commissions, councils, and other public bodies created in the executive branch of state government and subject to the provisions of this chapter shall post minutes of their meetings on the global information system known as the Internet. Those executive branch public bodies that promulgate regulations may post minutes of their meetings on a web site administered by the Department of Planning and Budget such body's website, if any, and on the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall. Executive branch public bodies that do not promulgate regulations may post minutes on an electronic calendar maintained by the Virginia Information Technologies Agency. Draft minutes of meetings shall be posted as soon as possible but no later than ten working days after the conclusion of the meeting. Final approved meeting minutes shall be posted within three working days of final approval of the minutes.
