SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Virginia Economic Development Incentive Act.Establishes the Virginia Economic Development Incentive Fund (Fund) administered by the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to provide grants to Virginia companies. The Fund distinguishes between Virginia companies that are located in large metropolitan areas and those located in other areas of the state by establishing different criteria for eligibility in terms of job creation and capital investment. The maximum amount of grants that may be approved in a fiscal year is $10 million and no more than three grants can be awarded to an eligible company in any single biennium. A company that has received a Virginia Investment Partnership grant would be ineligible for a grant from the Fund.
