SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Voting equipment security; Freedom of Information Act provisions. Provides limited exemptions from certain Freedom of Information Act requirements for documents and meetings of the State Board of Elections and local electoral boards pertaining to the security of ballots and voting equipment and related security risk assessment procedures.
SUMMARY AS INTRODUCED:
Voting equipment security; observers at polling places; Freedom of Information Act closed meeting provisions. Provides that the State Board of Elections shall issue policies, standards, and guidelines for securing voting equipment and ballots. The bill authorizes the State Board to assign observers at polling places. It also provides exemptions from certain Freedom of Information Act requirements for documents and meetings related to voting security assessments and audits.
