SUMMARY AS PASSED HOUSE:
Sales and use tax; food for human consumption. Reduces the rate of the state sales and use tax on food for human consumption to 1.5 percent beginning July 1, 2005. Under current law the rate of the state sales and use tax on food is 3 percent, and is scheduled gradually to be reduced to 1.5 percent by July 1, 2007. The bill incorporates HBs 1634, 1635, 1875, 2017, 2339, and 2421.
