WHEREAS, the Norfolk Saints, a youth football team founded in 2003, won the 2004 National Pop Warner Super Bowl in Orlando, Florida; and

WHEREAS, the Norfolk Saints, a Junior Pee Wee league team, is composed of 34 players between the ages of 9 and 11; and

WHEREAS, to pay for their visit to Florida for the national championship, the Norfolk Saints raised $20,000 in one week; and

WHEREAS, by defeating the Palo Alto, California, Knights, 31–8, in the championship game, the Norfolk Saints completed a perfect 2004 season, finishing with a record of 13–0; and

WHEREAS, the 2004 Junior Pee Wee national champions from Norfolk represented themselves, their families, their coaches, the City of Norfolk, and the Commonwealth with great distinction, pride, and teamwork; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Norfolk Saints football team on its outstanding 2004 season; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Norfolk Saints in honor of their national championship performance.
