HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 1014 On the death of Edward Lyle Clark, Jr.

WHEREAS, Edward Lyle Clark, Jr., of Stuart, a retired dairy farmer and insurance agent who was active in the Stuart community, died on November 27, 2004; and

WHEREAS, a native of Patrick County, Edward Clark was a 1953 graduate of Virginia Tech; and

WHEREAS, Edward Clark was chairman of the Stuart Cemetery Committee, past Worthy Patron of the Stuart Chapter No. 25 of the Order of the Eastern Star, and past Worshipful Master of the Mountain Home Lodge No. 263; and

WHEREAS, Edward Clark was a former member of the Patrick County School Board, the Stuart Rotary Club, and the Stuart Lions Club; and

WHEREAS, Edward Clark was an active and devoted member of Stuart United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, throughout a life of significant achievement, Edward Clark served his family and his community with dedication and commitment; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with sadness the passing of an exceptional Virginian, Edward Lyle Clark, Jr.; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Edward Lyle Clark, Jr., as an expression of the respect in which his memory is held by the members of the General Assembly.
