Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1.  § 1. That the Virginia Department of Transportation shall proceed expeditiously with the development and implementation of a program to establish regional pedestrian and bicycle advisory committees. The Department shall establish a committee in each of the Commonwealth's transportation districts and shall appoint citizen members to the committees. The committees shall hold regular meetings in order to seek public input for methods of improving government programs related to walking and bicycling.
